Presentation

This Master is the main way to access the PhD program of the same name and provides students with advanced research methods in the domain of Economics and Social Sciences applied to agriculture, food and natural resources. The large number of research projects carried out by the professors engaged in this program provides the students with the genuine framework for their initiation in research activity.

The Master's program is multidisciplinary. Knowledge in the following areas is imparted: basic research tools in economic and social sciences and more specific research tools in business management, marketing and market research, agricultural politics and rural development, law and institutions, environment and natural resources.

The most advanced research techniques in the aforementioned disciplines are presented in the courses, and each student gains the required ability in managing these techniques by applying them to a case study chosen by them or proposed by the professor. In the framework of a series of seminars specifically designed for this purpose, the students have the opportunity to know the research projects currently carried out in the Department, as well as making their own work known and debating it with their fellow students and professors.

At the beginning of the academic year, students are called to a plenary session where they are informed about the program and its development, as well as about the research lines opened in the Department. A tutor is assigned to each student, who will orient him when choosing the genuine research line to do his Master Thesis, taking into account both his previous training and his objectives.

To help the students join the labor market, the tutors provide information about job offers with the Master's profile and about the research contracts of the Department with other public or private organizations, where the student can gain work experience and references for future research works.
